At Provide International Organization, our mission is to uplift and empower the most vulnerable communities in Nairobi’s slums. Our longstanding partnership with Prime Bank Ltd, which began in 1988 and was revitalized in 2023, has been a cornerstone of this effort. This enduring collaboration has driven significant progress in improving the lives of children and single mothers in Korogocho, Dandora, and Kayole.
Since the revitalization of our partnership, our joint feeding program has been providing daily nutritious meals to over 500 children under 10 years of age. These children, some of whom are school-going and others who are not, all benefit from essential nourishment that supports their growth, development, and overall well-being. The positive effects of the program are evident in improved nutrition and reduced school absenteeism.
In addition to supporting these children, the program also empowers single mothers by offering financial resources and loans, thanks to the combined efforts of Prime Bank Ltd and “Mama Doing Good Organization.” This support helps these women sustain and grow their businesses, fostering economic stability for their families.
Looking to the future, we are excited to expand our initiatives. Our plans include introducing support for pregnant mothers through ante-natal and post-natal nutrition programs. These new efforts will ensure that both mothers and their newborns receive the vital nutrients needed for healthy development.
We are also planning to launch additional projects focused on capacity building, ICT skills training for youth, and tailoring courses for women, all designed to create sustainable opportunities and promote self-reliance.
